Lovely and Lavender - Rose Cut Tanzanite - Edgy Hand Carved Setting

For sale is a beautifully rustic and perfectly imperfect oval rose cut tanzanite ring. Hand carved by myself in wax and cast through the ancient process of lost wax casting in pale yellow gold.

This natural tanzanite gemstone is totally natural and untreated, cut in a popular antique rose cut style. The stone in its setting measures 10.5mm long by 9mm wide. The ring is currently a size 7 and is resizable for a small fee by Anueva or by your local jeweler. Once resized, however, it is non refundable. Please allow an additional week for resizing.

The gold used in this ring is eco-friendly 100% post-consumer recycled yellow gold in 10k. In total, the ring weighs 4.2g.

About Tanzanite:

Tanzanite is noted for its remarkably strong trichroism, appearing alternately sapphire blue, violet and burgundy depending on crystal orientation. Tanzanite can also appear differently when viewed under alternate lighting conditions. The blues appear more evident when subjected to fluorescent light and the violet hues can be seen readily when viewed under incandescent illumination. Tanzanite is usually a reddish brown in its rough state, requiring heat treatment to bring out the blue violet of the stone.

The mineral was named by Tiffany & Co. after Tanzania, the country in which it was discovered. In 2002, the American Gem Trade Association chose Tanzanite as a December birthstone. This particular tanzanite was ethically sourced from the Merelani Hills in Northern Tanzania.

The color of tanzanite ties it to loyalty, faith, sincerity and respect. Additionally, tanzanite has been added to the list of birthstones for those born in December. According to feng shui beliefs, blue tanzanite carries water energy whilst violet tanzanite carries fire energy.

Shipping Days

Our shipping days are Mondays and Tuesdays for all delivery speed options. On Thursdays, we only ship overnight orders to avoid any delays with packages sitting in courier warehouse over the weekend.

International Shipping

Appraisals

If you would like to have the ring appraised, there is a $150 appraisal fee that you can add to cart here. We will take the ring downtown to be appraised by a third party GIA gemologist appraiser and provide details for your insurance purposes. Please note, this can add approximately 2 weeks to your order timeline.
