Jewelry Appraisals & Gemstone Report Cards
Whether you’re looking to insure a finished piece of Anueva jewelry or have details of a loose gemstone, we offer two documentation options to suit your needs.
We strongly recommend insuring your ring through your homeowners or renters insurance policy or a dedicated jewelry insurance provider. The right coverage can help protect your ring if it is ever lost, stolen, or damaged.
If you unfortunately lose your ring, please reach out to us! We’re happy to provide copies of your original invoices to help with your insurance claim. Once your claim is approved, we can work with you to recreate your ring and, if needed, source a similar gemstone.
If your ring isn’t insured, we can still help you have it remade. However, the cost will be based on current metal and gemstone prices.
Jewelry Appraisals
Protect your investment with a professional jewelry appraisal from our independent, third-party appraiser, who holds a gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Your appraisal documents the characteristics and quality of your gemstone and setting, along with the estimated retail replacement value of your finished piece for insurance purposes.
Please note: Each appraisal covers one piece of jewelry. If you would like appraisals for multiple pieces, you’ll need to purchase one appraisal per item.
What’s Included
- Stone and setting evaluation: Documentation of your jewelry’s authenticity, quality, and characteristics.
- Retail replacement value: An estimated replacement value you can submit when obtaining jewelry insurance.
- Digital and printed copies: Receive both a PDF and a hard copy for your records.
Process & Timing
- Once your ring is complete, we'll send it to our independent, third-party appraiser for evaluation.
- Appraisals typically take 7–14 business days to complete.
- Adding an appraisal may extend your order’s delivery timeline by approximately two weeks.
Using Your Appraisal for Insurance - IMPORTANT!
You can submit your appraisal to your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance provider, or use it to obtain a dedicated jewelry insurance policy through a provider such as Jewelers Mutual.
Appraising and insuring your ring can provide peace of mind if it’s ever lost, stolen, or damaged. With the right coverage, your policy may help cover the cost of repairs or replacing your ring, depending on your coverage and policy terms.
A note about GIA: While our appraiser holds a degree in gemology from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), this is an independent jewelry appraisal, not an official GIA report.
How to Add an Appraisal
Select the appraisal option on the ring or setting page before checkout to add this service to your order. We’ll get your finished ring to the appraiser and pick it up once it’s finished. Purchase an appraisal here.
Gemstone Report Cards
A gemstone report card is a convenient, wallet-sized document that summarizes the key characteristics of an individual loose gemstone or diamond. It provides a quick reference for details such as stone type, carat weight, cut, shape, and other available gemstone information like origin. Purchase a gemstone report card here.
Gemstone report cards are available for loose stones only. If you’re purchasing a finished ring or other piece of jewelry and need documentation of the entire piece and its estimated retail replacement value for insurance purposes, please choose a jewelry appraisal instead.
What’s Included in a Gemstone Report Card?
- Gemstone details: Stone type, cut, measurements, and shape.
- Carat weight: The recorded weight of the gemstone.
- Color and clarity: Relevant characteristics, where applicable.
- Additional information: Available details about origin, treatments, or whether the stone is natural or lab-grown.
Process & Timing
- Gemstone report cards typically take 7–14 business days to complete.
Important: Our gemstone report cards summarize available gemstone information and are not a substitute for a comprehensive, independent laboratory grading report. While our appraiser holds a gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), these documents are not official GIA reports.
Which Option Is Right for You?
Jewelry Appraisal: For Finished Jewelry
Choose an appraisal if you want documentation of a completed ring or other piece of jewelry, including its gemstone, setting, craftsmanship, and estimated retail replacement value. This is the recommended option if you need documentation for jewelry insurance.
Gemstone Report Card: For Loose Stones
Choose a report card if you’re buying a loose sapphire or diamond and want a convenient reference documenting its known characteristics. It provides helpful information about your gemstone but does not establish a replacement value for insurance purposes.
Gemstone report cards are for informational purposes only and may not meet your insurance provider’s documentation requirements. We recommend checking with your provider if you’re unsure which documentation they require.
