Three Stone Mermaid Sapphire Ring
Greens, blues, purples and greys with rose gold always look like mermaid colors to me: colors you would find in the plants, shells and waters in the depths of the oceans. The lines of the setting of this ring are also inspired by the creatures and shells of the sea.
Expertly set in a six-prong claw setting is an ethically sourced and custom cut green Nigerian sapphire. It is untreated and a lighter green with some hints of light blue. The sapphire weighs 1.86ct and measures a bit more than 8x6mm. It has great (eye clean) clarity and brilliance, the light bouncing off it's custom cut facets.
On the sides of the center stone are two custom cut purple-grey round spinel, weighing 0.40ctw. I love spinel for their sparkle and unique grey undertones.
The sapphire was purchased from a supplier who works directly with artisan miners, ensuring that their communities in Nigeria benefit directly from these sales.
The gold used to cast this ring is 14k rose gold, 100% post-consumer recycled and refined again for strength. The shank tapers from 3.21mm at the shoulders to 1.9mm at the bottom of the ring and is a half-rounded band. It would stack well with other straight bands. The ring is a size 6.5 and can be resized for a fee. Rings are non-refundable after resizing, however. Please resize 1-2 weeks for resizing and email us after purchase with your desired size.

Sapphire is the birthstone for September. It is also a traditional gift for those celebrating 5th or 45th anniversaries.
Sapphires are often associated with loyalty and dignity and are a favorite gemstone for royalty. They come in a rainbow of colors from white, yellow, pinks, orange, greens, purple and blue, with the most valuable being a deep blue.
Most natural sapphires undergo heat treatment to improve their color and clarity. This industry-accepted practice results in a permanent enhancement and helps protect against accidental chipping or breakage.
Making a Difference:
Help fight climate change with this purchase! Trees are like the lungs of the planet...our "natural air purifiers." They breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. Additionally, they provide habitat for birds and other wildlife and play a vital role in our natural water cycle. Forests help regulate the water in the air through a process called transpiration. They absorb thousands of gallons of water into their roots. Excess water is then released through the leaves back into the air. For every purchase made, I donate one planted tree through Plant-It 2020. Small changes by individuals can make a difference in the fight against climate change. You will be reminded of your efforts each time you look down at your beautiful gold bark band.
