Color Changing Sapphires

These mystical Tanzanian sapphires are all natural and get their special color changing ability from trace elements of chromium and vanadium that were naturally introduced to the stone during its crystal growth process. These elements cause the sapphire to absorb specific wavelengths of light differently, showing their unique colors under specific lighting.

These can change from a teal blue green under natural daylight to a stunning deep purple grey under incandescent light! Not all color changing sapphires have these same color changes, but we have a parcel of stones with these specific color shifting tones. Often, they can shift from blue to green, green to grey, blue to red, all kinds of color combinations
