One-of-a-Kind Victorian Inspired Spinel and Seed Pearl Pendant - Eco Friendly Mermaid Jewelry

This pendant is the only one of it's kind! The stone was picked from a selection of ethically sourced blue and purple spinel and the setting was hand carved by myself in wax and cast into reclaimed 10k white gold using the lost wax casting method.

This moody blue spinel is totally natural and untreated. The spinel itself is about 6x4mm and the pearls are approximately 2.45mm in diameter. The pendant measures 17.5mm wide by 22.6mm long if you include the bail.

The gold used in this pendant is eco-friendly 100% post-consumer recycled white gold in 10k. The pendant weighs 4.3g.

About the Stone:

Spinel is a gemstone that at one time was most famous for being mistaken for ruby or sapphire. These days spinel gets the respect it deserves - it is recognized for its excellent hardness , brilliance, and the fact that unlike most ruby and sapphire gemstones, spinel is never heated or treated in any way.

Due to its very good dispersion, spinel gemstones can possess vivid fire. The intensity of spinel color is in part due to the fact that spinel is one of the few singly refractive gemstones, the others include garnet and diamond.
